First Listen: Gamer’s Love ~ Jamila B.

Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Jamila B. was always surrounded by music. Within her short career she has opened for the Clipse, Choclair, and the legendary Ink Spots. With only a mixtape added to her name, Jamila is constantly doing shows locally and is ready to expand. Saturday mornings as a child consisted of music blaring which ranged from the likes of artists such as Keith Sweat and Bobby Brown with their new jack swing style, pop divas like Mariah Carey, The Gap Band for the funk fix and reggae. Jamila also includes Aaliyah, SWV, TLC, and Robyn as her main influences for her R&B/Pop sound.

Keziah Jones: Bare Torso Soul Singer/Guitarist

Keziah Jones (born Olufemi Sanyaolu on January 10, 1968 in Lagos, Nigeria) is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and guitarist. He describes his musical style as “Blufunk”, which is a fusion between raw blues elements and hard, edgy funk rhythms. Also his Nigerian roots and soul music can be considered a major influence on his sound.
