Chef Renee Chukwuemeka comes from 3 generations of great cooks. Her great-grandmother was a fantastic cook and passed her knowledge down, she still remembers helping and learning from her mum and grand ma (of blessed memory) the art of traditional cooking. In her words:
I’ve always loved to cook. Being an anchor on a cooking show on Soundcity/Spicetv spurred me on to become a trained certified chef for 2 reasons (1) I always loved to cook, why not learn everything else that goes with it ? (2) I never met an executive chef or head chef who was Nigerian.
This led me to the 3rd best culinary school in the world, the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu College Of Culinary Arts, Austin Texas, where I was under intensive training by master chefs for a year and now I am here not only as one of the few trained and certified Nigerian Chefs, but also as the first trained and certified female Nigerian chef. I am presently the Executive Chef Trasco Group, the holding group of the Browns Café, La Casa Brand, and the Illashe Beach Resort brand.
Visit Browns Cafe, to taste some of her delicious, mouth watering delicacies.

Yaaaaaaay! Renee’s amazing! Wait till you taste her baked fish!!!! Absolutely yummy! You are divine girl, and we love you! *hugs*
Chef Renee is simply awesome…I’ve tasted various dishes she’s prepared before & after she became a professional chef. If you ask me, she’s done well for herself. If you’ve not tasted her meal, you’ve not tasted good cooking. By the way, I started cooking from age 9, decades ago, so I know a good cook when I see one!
