Maga No Need Pay: Nigerian Musicians against 419

In my humble opinion, this song/video was wayyyyyy overdue. Music has a lot of influence on youth culture and what better way to reach the youth than through an established and powerful medium? Microsoft has done well by funding this song/video; the song deals with the mirage of yahoo yahoo culture (fraud) and tries to sensitize the youth about the futility and ills associated with this social sickness. Hats off to Modele, Omawumi, Banky W, Bez Idakula, Cobhams, Rooftop MCs,MI Abaga and Wordsmith for this wonderful song.

I am Tosin Pedro, a self-taught landscape and portrait photographer based in London, England. I am inspired by everyday life and the things that surround me which others may or may not take any notice of. Everything natural, that architectural master piece that no-one seems to notice because it’s not exactly ‘tourist attraction’ or the commuters on their way back home in rush hour, these are things that inspire me the most.

Q & A: Dagrin, The C.E.O. (Chief Executive Omo-ita)

Contrary to what some people chose to believe, Dagrin (real names: Olayitan Olanipekun Oladapo) is educated and a dope rapper. The soft spoken, reserved but versatile rapper attended Rosemary Nursery and Primary School, Good Shepherd Nursery and Primary School; Community High School, Egbado College and a Tech. computer Institution.  His choice in using his native tongue (Yoruba) to deliver his lyrical messages has prompted whispers and doubts from different corners about his education and background.

Mojeed Mumuni and Oluleye Awoleye sat down with the rapper for a quick Q & A …

In Pictures: Banky W. Video Shoot

When a Nigerian entertainment heavyweight like Banky W. (aka Mr. Capable) decides to shoot a video, everybody pays attention. It gets better if he gets someone like Kemi Adetiba to direct such a video. If the video shoot is not just a shoot, but a video shoot and a party…Lagos style, then things get a little more complicated.
