Ms. Bella Adenuga, the daughter of Globacom boss: Dr. Mike Adenuga got married to her long time boyfriend, Jameel Disu. The week long wedding has been the talk of the town, reaching a fever high with speculations that American singer /superstar Beyonce would perform at the wedding reception. The relationship of the duo had met a lot of resistance from Bella’s home front, but Bella’s father decided to soft pedal on the issue due to rumor making the rounds that Bella and Jameel may have legalized their union abroad.

TARUWA is a bi-weekly event (every second Tuesday) hosted by Gbagyichild, spearheaded by the wonderful Lydia Idakula. It is an event which creates a platform for artistes to express themselves in an intellectual setting. Taruwa holds at 6 Degrees North (aka Bacchus Night Club), Awolowo Road, Ikoyi from 7pm to 9pm. We have a lot of fun and we have had guest artistes in the house.

Careful planning, wonderful organization, heavy security presence and the happy go lucky spirit of Lagosians all added in making the Lagos Carnival 2010 a huge success. The colors were wow ! the parades beautifully orchestrated and the attendees well behaved. This adds another feather to the thinking and administrative reputation of the Fashola administration.

D’banj, MI, Tuface and P Square brought home the Zain MAMA Awards from the just concluded 2nd edition, held at the Moi International Sports Center, a multipurpose stadium in Kasarani, outskirts of Nairobi Kenya . And Broadway came to Nigeria, in colors as unforgettable and familiar as our motherland.
On the 19th of September 2009, Aboriginal productions delivered it’s first child on the Muson Center,Lagos stage. The progeny was called Oluronbi (The Musical). With two different shows catering to an audience of over 700, a newborn was introduced to the world. The clear-cut story was humorous and the language well understood. Here’s a review.

RIMZ and BEATZ is based on a unique concept that combines cars, bikes, music and entertainment all in one fair. The show is an outdoor exhibition of vehicles which have been modified to reflect the owners’ personalities. The show was supported by the Nigerian Police Force and the National Road Commission. Sponsors include: Bluefield Partners and Services Limited, Reid, AdCity, Cruise, RimzTv, Chanchagi Airlines and Dynamix Magazine. Performances by MI, Modenine, Shank, Jesse Jagz amongst others.

The SoundCity Crew hosted Lagos, and by extension, Nigeria to this year’s Souncity Music Video Awards. The venue was the Eko Hotel’ Expo’ Center. As expected, the crowd was massive with performances by Wizkid, Banky W, Eldee The Don, Mims, Jozi, Seun Kuti, The Mo’Hits crew and Wyre. The red carpet arangement was wow ! but processing the crowd took too long so the show did not start until late at night.
