Daniel Onorezi Adaka wins Spanish Embassy Art Competition
The exhibition is the 4th Edition of The Visual Art competition organised by the Spanish Embassy in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Tourism, Culture & National Orientation and the National Gallery of Art. The exhibition is part of the activities held within the framework of the Spanish Cultural week held from 9th – 16th October, 2009 with the Spanish National Day celebration held on the15th of October, 2009.
The Exhibition/Competition which was held at the Transcorp-Hilton Hotel in Abuja was themed Nigeria vs. Spain: Football Passion! and it coincided with the FIFA U-17 World Cup that took place in Nigeria at the same period. It was intended to give an opportunity to young Nigerian artists to show their talents and to unite Nigeria and Spain through a common passion: Football and a common language : Art.
The 1st prize is a 4-days all expense paid trip to Spain in February 2009 to attend the International Art fair A.R.C.O. The 2nd and 3rd prizes are two batches of art materials. Dignitaries at the award presentation ceremony which was held on the 13th of October were : the Spanish Ambassador- Angel Losada Fernandez , the Cultural & Cooperation Adviser, Embassy of Spain- Eva Barta Martin, representative of the Minister of Tourism, Culture & National Orientation and the representative of the Director General Nigeria Gallery of Art.
The 1st prize winner was Mr. Daniel O. Adaka, the 2nd prize winner was Mr. Razaq O. Folami and the 3rd prize winner was Mr. Ademola l. Adebambo.
