I just spotted the Hip Hop World Awards 2009 nominee list and I’ve got to say the categories are tight this year. And at least I didn’t spot anything super crazy like 9ice in a Hip Hop category like that daft MTV Base Music Awards last y…

The only suprise is that Bigiano’s Shayo did not make the song of the year nomination, that song is massive bt all the same its all good, this is surely a prize to die for.

The nominee’s are all tight and the categories are just to close to call, but we all know the nominees that did well in the year under review and i believe those that are able to grab the awards will know they did a good job and need to work harder to stay on top and for other’s they know they need sit up cos the music industry is becoming more competitive. best of luck to the nominees and kudos to the hiphop awards crew you guys came up with most competitive nominees ever in the history of awards in nigeria.

i think leaving out bigiano shayo for the street hop award is not fair
Men i think the lists and nominees are tight, but just one nomination for psquare and no mention of bigiano and durella, imean these two artist had huge singles that rocked and no faze but there blackface, didnt see BEST R ‘N’ B/ POP ALBUM(female) or is it that there no female album release in the year,anyways i like the competition in the categories i hope the peoples choice gets the plague at the end.
2face wins in all
Nice groupings, making it keenly contested. Songs promoting vices (Smoking, drinking and scamming) were also automatically disqualified so no SHAYO (Bigiano and Durella) and no Maga don pay (Kelly Handsome). Wish there was a way to know how they arrived at the winners though so we’d be certain there was no NIGERIAN FACTOR involved!!!!
i think the stakes are high, Faze’s albulm ain’t tight but originality single could have gotten something, to be honest tuface’s albulm was very matured and diverse thats why everybody has a song or two 2 love in the albulm ( i love ‘fly’),but what is D’banj doing in RnB category? when faze aint there. i wish em the best.love naija
Hi I think the result in this year is OK… but BIGGER KUDOS to MI, Da Grin, Ruggedman, Lord of Ajasa, Faze and Mode 9.
D banj is going to win in all the competition that his name falls out in the nominees, because he was so outstanding in the year 2009, most especially, his \’fall in love\’ was loved by everybody in Naija, and was played in all parties.
But as for th upcoming musician in Naija, i think i will give it to da grin 4 his 1daful performances
