Taruwa: The move to Jazz Sessions.

Taruwa is a bit over a year old, and the crowd keeps growing as fast as the gifted and talented participants. For a lot of Nigerians (yeah, not just Lagosians), that second Tuesday is as important as their birthdays.  The move from Bogobiri (which has been home to Taruwa over the past year) to Jazz Sessions was a major necessity.

While the Taruwa crowd didn’t immediately jell with the vibe of the new venue, I could tell that they loved the ambience and there are prospects of actually adjusting their mindsets to suit Taruwa’s new home. I had my fingers crossed crossed as I approached the venue, alas the house was packed (I mean new faces and old regular faces), the humor and that good old Taruwa atmosphere that relaxes you like you are among family was still there (fingers uncrossed*).

The After-Sessions

Hint: I noticed a new ineteresting development: The After-sessions (random freestyle rap and singing sessions). This is the second time it has happened and you just have to witness it to understand the beauty that these Rhythmically Appealling Poets weave and create.
