American rapper 50cents was the first person that I heard using this style (on How To Rob) , he painted a picture of a frustrated MC that goes about robbing other rappers to survive; the style mixes crafty story telling with humor (although lots of the people referred to did not find the song funny). Nigeria’s Modenine came out with his version last year and lots of peeps didn’t find it funny either. Here’s Duno going down the same lane, taking quick jabs at Modenine, MI, Mo’Hits etc.

ET recently announced the nominees for the 2010 awards and MI & P square were announced as nominees for best international act. They were nominated in the same category that contains other heavy weights like Hip Hop Pantsula (HHP), K’Naan, Kojo Antwi, Corinne Bailey Rae, Sade, Chipmunk, Dizzee Rascal, and Estelle .
Clarence ! Clarence ! Oh my….this dude has grown his art form so much. Ok, let’s see…this post is not really about Clarence Peters. This video was shot by Clarence for Mike Anyasodo’s ‘Fine, fine lady’ song featuring Capital Records’ iLL Bliss. Mike Anyasodo is the season 2 winner of Project fame, West Africa. Overall lovely video, clean, crisp and a total eye candy. Spot Cobhams in the opening scene looking bad ass.
Smokey, aka SMK, aka Smokeylicious, one of the key members of JJC & 419 Squad and one-time collaborator with US superstar Moby, is back with his new single “Sumthin”. After his recent appearances on two other Nigerian club hits – “Gegi Lale” by JJC and “2fabulous Anthem” by 2fabulous – Smokey his now ready to blow up the dancefloors and TV screens by himself, with a little help from Mo Eazy.
